Now that spring is upon us, homeowners are replacing the icicle seeds on their eaves with...

Sandicles: Short-range attractive field gathers dust and sand particles out of the air. An even shorter-range buffer reduces friction between grains, and promotes (nearly) free rolling, while allowing particles to remain attached. Path-finding logic extends field across all attached particles. (Buffer is only active at edge of the cluster; particles below the surface are rigidly bound.) Color-sorting logic rejects darker particles, preventing "mudsicle" effect. Result: nice clean sandicles hanging from roof. Works best in windy area near golf course.

Rainicles: Raindrops falling through scoop field are surrounded by a retaining field; this causes them to act like mostly-rigid beads. (As if surface tension was greatly increased.) Attracting and rigidizing fields then applied, as above. Result: dangling clusters of uncoalesced water droplets. Very pretty at night.

Airicles: Clever idea, but you can't actually see them. On the other hand, they tinkle nicely in a breeze.

The only difference between a shelf and a cabinet is how tidy it looks when nobody is using it. This being the case (as it were), you can put a shelf face onto any shelf, to make it behave like a cabinet. The tool projects an opaque field (customizable pattern) which runs vertically from the edge of the shelf to the next higher shelf (or to the ceiling, or whatever). The field vanishes if anything touches it, or passes through it. It also accepts override control via standard switch interfaces.

Disposable clocks -- tear one off the roll, slap it on the wall, and it tells time for a day. Then it dries up and falls off. You can pick it up and stick it back on, but it'll just play the same day over and over... complete with snapshots and audio clips. Good for nostalgia, one supposes. Or an automatic diary.
